A few things that usually help:

• Reducing the number of visible tasks (for example, collapsing sections or filtering out completed items)
• Limiting the date range you’re working with, especially in long-term projects
• Minimising dependencies and visual elements where possible, as they add to the load
• Using a simpler view setup when working with very large timelines
