How do you keep large Gantt chart exports readable?

I often export Gantt charts for client plans and presentations, but when a project is long or includes many tasks, the final PDF or image becomes difficult to read. I’ve tried adjusting the date range, zoom, task name placement, and visible fields, but I still haven’t found a setup that keeps the chart clear without removing too much detail.

Has anyone found a combination of export settings that works well for large projects? Could you share how you set up your exports and whether there are any additional settings you feel are missing?

Hi Thomas! Hi! I've shared a few tips for making long exports easier to read, using Touch view and splitting the chart into shorter periods with the Date range filter. You can find it here: https://community.ganttpro.com/60/visualisation-exporting

A few other settings may also help:

Export the chart as a full-size PDF in landscape orientation.

Select Weeks or Months under Zoom.

Hide nonessential fields and task names.

Collapse the plan and expand only the stages you need.

For client presentations, one high-level overview with separate detailed exports for key phases is often easier to follow than a single large chart.
